CreativeVANITY travels to the land down under to get a feel for the culture, and atmosphere of the two beautiful cities, Sydney and Melbourne.
Legend has it that these two cities, the largest in Australia, competed to be the country’s capital, and as a compromise, a location between the two was selected thus giving rise to Canberra.
As the summer turned to fall (well, winter to spring in Australia!), your Places Editor traveled to these two competing cities to immerse in the culture and experience some adventure.
Sydney
From Bondi Beach, to the Roseville suburbs and the downtown CBD of Sydney, the city has a beauty that is captured in its people, buildings and breathtaking scenery. This city emits a typically Australian beach feel. This is especially so in Bondi Beach, a suburb centered around the famous, tourist friendly beach of the same name. The stunning ‘Bondi to Bronte’ coastal walk adds a unique element to the Bondi experience, enjoyable for everyone.
Melbourne
Melbourne exhibits a glowing, multi-cultural city feel, which has the ability to make anyone feel alive. The city is always buzzing – with new places to see and endless adventures to stumble across. The splashes of colour in this city’s architecture combined with the spontaneous appearance of street art in back alleys add vibrancy and character to Melbourne.
When visiting Melbourne after Sydney, you can truly see how tough it is to choose between the two. The ambiance of each place is completely unique, with Sydney’s beaches and Melbourne’s glowing city lights.
And then…
After visiting both cities, your editor took a road trip along the Great Ocean Road – one of the world’s most scenic coastlines filled with gorgeous rock structures and infinite sparkling blue ocean. A definite recommendation for anyone travelling to Australia!
